Ambient industrial music (also called Dark Ambient) is a subgenre of industrial music that combines the harsh, abrasive sounds of traditional industrial music with atmospheric and ethereal elements of ambient music. The result is a sound that is often described as haunting, hypnotic, and immersive.


Ambient industrial music typically makes use of electronic instrumentation, including synthesizers, samplers, and drum machines, to create complex soundscapes that are characterized by their dense layers of sound and intricate rhythms. It often incorporates found sounds and field recordings, as well as samples from movies, speeches, and other sources.


Some notable ambient industrial artists include Brian Eno, Lustmord, Coil, Zoviet France, and Biosphere.
