Traditional wedding music fom The Kangra region of Himachal Pradesh in India. The instruments used are the Pipdi - a reed blowing instrument some what similar to the Shenai used in other regions of India (Played by Mangal Ram from Bir Village), and the Nagara Drums - similar to the nagras in the plains (these are very old pieces) they are made of metal with skin stretched on the playing surface. The skin is tightened with straps that weave into the edge of the skin and meet at the centre bottom of the drums. Two drums are placed opposite each other and the drummer plays them with a cross stick action. The drummer here is Jondu Ram (father of Mangal Ram.) Please note: This is a genuinely live, on-the-spot recording, and as such, there may be slight flaws in the performance and recording.
Fast paced, inspiring, epic and modern Rock track similar to Muse and Kasabien. Awaken bristles with eastern sounding piano and and hard hitting electric guitars. Stabbing string and synth pads fill out the track to create a vivid and uplifting sound. (Inspired by United States of Eurasia by muse)
Blending Eastern, Oriental moods and instruments with more modern, western rhythms, this exotic chillout track features tabla, flute and Sarangi.
Dreamy world, ethnic soundscape with an Eastern flute and Indian Sarangi. Romantic, atmospheric. Great for travel, adventure, exotic locations, history and mythology.
Crispy World Music Track with Bollywood flair, tablas, Indian synth violins, many effects and very varied. Screws the atmospheric barometer quite far upward
A 20-second intro or credits, with authentic Indian flair
A very tender pensive track. Indian/Arabic elements create a wondrous, curious mood with a lot of age and soul. Features tender guitar arpeggio, ethnic female vocals and chimes.
A koto sound provides arpeggios on which Asian percussion forms a basis for free form flute melodies. This elegant track harks back to an ancient age where history and the modern world merge with respect.
Busy tabla and Asian percussion give an active and energetic pace to this World Music track. A gamelan accompanies a sax that quickens with intensity as it's improvisation reaches new heights. A really hedonistic feel to this soundtrack.
A subtle urban rhythm provides the backdrop for an Indian female voice to sing and improvise over the contemporary accompaniment.
