Chopin composed many mazurkas, (a Polish folk dance), and this is one of his most familiar. Not too fast, but swirling and with a light playfulness, it has a calmer interlude before resuming the dance.

Chopin - Mazurka Opus 67 No.2 in G minor - Completely Royalty Free Music

The second on Debussy's Arabesques is faster, brighter and more lively. Although the two works are usually put in the '20th Century' classical music period, they are now being increasingly seen as a separate impressionistic style popular with European composers.

Debussy - Arabesque No.2 (L.66 number 2) - Completely Royalty Free Music

Popular and amusing, this piano solo by Dvorak is the most famous of his '8 Humoresques'. A loose and flowing track which has been used in many humorous settings. Great for conveying a little comical, witty or satirical feeling.

Dvorak - Humoresque Opus 101 No.7 in G flat major - Completely Royalty Free Music

Playful melodies begin this intensely moving work. Schumann keeps the emotions ebbing and flowing as the dynamics rise and fall in this deeply accomplished composition which was written when he was just 29 years old.

Schumann - Arabeske Opus 18 in C major - Completely Royalty Free Music
