A circus may be either the ring or arena where a performance takes place (i.e. by clowns, animals, acrobats), it may be the actual performers, or encompass the meaning of “a madhouse”. Thus, we can say, “The circus pitched its tent on the empty lot in town.” During a performance, music usually accompanies. There are several known pieces.
