Topic search CIRCUS 1/5

A circus may be either the ring or arena where a performance takes place (i.e. by clowns, animals, acrobats), it may be the actual performers, or encompass the meaning of “a madhouse”. Thus, we can say, “The circus pitched its tent on the empty lot in town.” During a performance, music usually accompanies. There are several known pieces. The most familiar one is The Entry of the Galdiators (Thunder and Blazes), by Czech composer Julius Fu?ík: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zjedLeVGcfE, although others are popular, too. An example of circus in the last meaning is used in, “The streets were a three-ring circus; with all the construction going on, nobody really knew where to go.”
